It's time for this part of the tour to now split again. We are going to split the trucks up here in Victoria Falls. Our tour, for 5 in our group comes to an end here. With 7 of us going on to Johannesburg and the other 5 onto Cape Town. But first we have 3 nights in Victoria Falls. We booked in for the lion encounter to get up close to lion clubs. It turned out these lions were practically almost adults they were reaching their pre-release stage of the conservation & Study Program. The lions here were 22 months old, normally they would be less then this but they are almost ready for release into the semi wild. They didn't seem to bothered by us but it was great to get up close and stroke them and get pictures. We paid about $75 USD for this, half the cost to walk with the lions and I feel what was the same if not similar experience.

The afternoon was followed immediately after by watching people throw themselves off the gorge on the zip line and gorge swing. 75m free fall followed by a 90m swing across the falls. Sounds exciting but watching it first hand was not the same experience I guess. I asked the bar tender for a glass of courage and a chaser.

So while we watched I was having tequila shots and beers, I realise now reading back here I forgot to mention that Aaron had booked me in for the bungy jump off the bridge which at that point was non refundable. Talk about the ultimate guilt trip to make me do it!!! So sure enough in 1 hour, 2pm we were throwing ourselves off the bridge. 80m free fall, 110 metre drop and probably the worst nerves and anxiety I have ever felt. Anyway I did it and it was great after all, probably wouldn't rush to go and do it again anytime soon.

Dinner with the group one last time tonight great restaurant called Shearwater Cafe and great food good prices Tomorrow morning Aaron is going fishing on the Zambezi and hunting out the Tiger fish. We then will go to the Vic falls national park to all the lookouts and to basically get drenched. There is over 10 million litres a second going over the falls this time of the year and the mist literally pours down on you. Tomorrow we head back across the border into Botswana and onto the Okavango Delta on Wednesday for Aaron's Birthday. It's been a great couple of days but we excited for the next leg, a new overland truck as we move down into South Africa. Comfy seats, more leg room, more people but a much nicer truck and an excellent crew who seem way more organised then the Kenyan crew. Believe it or not, but we have 10 days of our overland truck adventure left and then 1 last week of luxury before the return home. -End
